Overview

The purpose of Covert Mode is to enable the operator to use their BWC as discreetly as possible. This is usable in a variety of situations where visual or audible notifications may negatively impact the operator.

Caution:
It is highly recommended that users are well accustomed to the features and functions of the BWC prior to using Covert Mode.

Covert On

To enable Covert Mode, move the covert slider over the LEDs.

The following occurs when covert mode is enabled:

  • Both LEDs will no longer be visible to either the operator or any other person (visible notification).
  • Both the spoken and beep notifications will be disabled (audible notification).
  • Haptic feedback (vibration) will be disabled if configured to do so.
Notes:
  • Haptic feedback (vibration) is configurable in the Unit Configuration Template in Getac Enterprise.
  • All camera features such as, recording, Bookmark, etc. are unaffected by entering Covert Mode. All button presses continue to function as normal, simply without any notifications of such.
  • This mode can be enabled and disabled at any time.

Covert Off

To disable Covert Mode, move the covert slider over to uncover the LEDs.

The following occurs when covert mode is disabled:

  • Both LEDs will become visible to the operator and other persons (visible notification).
  • Both the spoken and beep notifications will be enabled (audible notification).
  • Haptic feedback (vibration) will be enabled if configured to do so.
