Overview
This article explains how to deactivate old BC-02s and register new, refresh BWCs to be used in their place.
When an account is set up, Getac sets the deployed device count in terms of Host Licenses. The host licenses are bound to Units during the registration phase. Old BWCs need to be deactivated first in order to recoup said Host Licenses prior to registering new BWCs.
Deactivate old devices
- Log into Getac Enterprise and access the Unit Page.
- Click on the funnel icon to the right of the Type column, type bodyworn, then click on Filter.
- Alternatively, filter by the (Old) serial number of the BWC by clicking on the funnel to the right of the Machine column.
- Once an old device is located, click the checkbox to the left of the Unit ID column, click the Gear icon, and select Deactivate.
Note:Only one BWC can be deactivated at a time, so it would be best to deactivate during a shift change or for BWCs that are off duty.
- Deactivated devices will display a gray circle with a black line running through the center horizontally within the (Status) column.
Registering New Cameras
Note:
It is best to deactivate groups of BWCs in batches, e.g. 16 old BC-02s to recoup 16 licenses, then dock 16 new BC-02s to use the newly freed licenses.
- Once all old devices are deactivated, dock the new BC-02s into an MD-02D to automatically register them.
- Once a BC-02 is registered, it can be renamed from the Detailed Unit page.
- Once renamed, assign the correct configuration template to the camera via the dropdown list.
- Finally, if using a static User assignment, be sure to reassign the new BWCs to the correct user, as this does not carry over.
