Overview
Enrollment means to have a client device ready for the platform so that the server can collect data from the device.
The Essential ControlHub app is required for the purpose. For Windows devices, this app is to be installed. (See “Downloading ControlHub for Windows Devices” to know where to find the installation file.) For Android devices, this app is preinstalled.
There are different enrollment methods. You can use the one that most suits your scenario.
Enrolling with Serial Number Activation
This method is for a purchase order accompanying the hardware. It is especially useful for the administrator if all the hardware devices should have been assigned licenses and be ready for automatic enrollment before they are sent to the customer’s end-users. (See “Enrolling with Serial Number Activation” for the enrollment instructions.)
Android Devices
The below three methods are for Android devices.
- Enrolling with the Activation QR Code
This method is for enrolling a device with the Activation QR Code, which is a ready-made QR code. As the QR code is easily accessible, it provides a convenient way to enroll a device. (See “Enrolling with the Activation QR Code” for the enrollment instructions.)
- Enrolling with an Enrollment QR Code
This method is for enrolling an Android device into Getac Essentials or a third-party EMM platform with an Enrollment QR Code. It is especially useful for a batch of work involving a large quantity of devices to be enrolled all at their initial startup phase. (See “Enrolling with an Enrollment QR Code” for the enrollment instructions.)
- Enrolling with GetacPair (for supported Android devices only)
This method is perfect for bulk device setups in field operations and warehouse environments. GetacPair uses proximity-based technology to rapidly deploy enrollment configurations to multiple nearby devices. (See “Enrolling with GetacPair” for the enrollment instructions.)
Windows Devices
The below method is for Windows devices.
- Enrolling with the Activation File
This method is for enrolling a Windows device with the Activation File. Bulk enrollment is supported. (See “Enrolling with the Activation File” for the enrollment instructions.)
