Verizon eSIM Activation and Configuration Guide for Windows Devices

Purpose

This document provides step-by-step instructions for activating and configuring a Verizon eSIM on a Windows-based device using the Verizon MyBiz portal.


Prerequisites

Before beginning, ensure the following:

  • You have access to your Verizon MyBiz account.
  • The device supports eSIM functionality.
  • You have the device IMEI available.
  • You have the Verizon eSIM QR code/barcode.
  • You know the correct Verizon APN for your organization’s account.

Verizon eSIM Setup Procedure

Step 1 – Sign In to Verizon MyBiz

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Navigate to the Verizon MyBiz portal.
  3. Sign in using your business account credentials.

Step 2 – Locate the Device IMEI

  1. Find the device you want to activate.
  2. Record the device’s IMEI number.

The IMEI is required to assign and activate the eSIM profile.


Step 3 – Activate the eSIM in MyBiz

  1. In MyBiz, open the Manage SIM section.
  2. Select the option for eSIM.
  3. Apply and save the changes.

Wait for confirmation that the eSIM activation has completed before proceeding.


Step 4 – Open Cellular Settings on the Windows Device

  1. On the device, click the Windows Start button.
  2. Navigate to:

     
    Settings → Network & Internet → Cellular

Step 5 – Select the Correct SIM Slot

  1. In Cellular settings, verify that SIM2 is selected.

On devices with both physical SIM and eSIM support, the eSIM is typically assigned to SIM2.


Step 6 – Open eSIM Profiles

  1. Within the Cellular settings page, select:

     
    eSIM Profiles

Step 7 – Add a New eSIM Profile

  1. Click Add Profile.
  2. Choose the option to manually add a profile.
  3. Select the option to scan a QR code/barcode.

Step 8 – Scan the Verizon eSIM QR Code

  1. Use the device camera to scan the provided Verizon eSIM QR code/barcode.

Ensure the QR code is clearly visible and fully captured during scanning.


Step 9 – Enable the eSIM Profile

  1. After the profile is successfully added:
    • Select the new eSIM profile.
    • Click Use Profile.

The profile must be enabled before cellular connectivity can be established.


Step 10 – Open Mobile Operator Settings

  1. Return to the main Cellular Settings page.
  2. Open:

     
    Mobile Operator Settings

Step 11 – Verify or Add the APN

  1. Verify that the correct Verizon APN is present.
  2. If no APN exists:
    • Select Add APN.

Step 12 – Configure the APN

  1. Enter the required Verizon APN information in the APN field.

Use the APN assigned to your Verizon business account.


Step 13 – Set the APN Type

  1. Scroll to the Type field.
  2. Select:

     
    Internet and Attach

Step 14 – Save the Configuration

  1. Click OK or Save to apply the APN settings.

The device should begin connecting to the Verizon cellular network automatically.


Verification

After setup is complete:

  • Confirm the device shows a cellular signal.
  • Verify internet connectivity.
  • Confirm the device displays Verizon as the active carrier.

Troubleshooting

eSIM Profile Will Not Download

  • Verify the QR code is valid and active.
  • Ensure the device has internet access during setup.
  • Restart the device and retry.

No Cellular Connection

  • Verify the APN settings are correct.
  • Ensure the eSIM profile is enabled.
  • Confirm SIM2 is selected.

Verizon Network Not Detected

  • Disable and re-enable Cellular connectivity.
  • Restart the device.
  • Contact Verizon Business Support if the issue persists.
