Q: I have already disabled Getac GPS Service but something seems to be taking up the GPS COM port as its not available for my software. What else could be using the COM Port?

A: If you have the Mobility VPN please open it and go to the configuration then under location. If it shows its set to Automatic please change this to Windows Location.

The auto setting will have it find it on the COM port making it unusable by anything else. If you're able to disable this at the server level that is even better so that it wont try to use location.

After changing it to Windows location and clicking OK you now can have your software attempt to use the GPS.

If this still doesn't get it working please contact our helpdesk at 866-394-3822 or fill out the form at https://www.getac.com/us/contact/
