Honeywell BCR – DL Scanning Issue
Issue: BCR only inputs "@" symbol into Spillman/Flex DL software.
Resolution Steps:
- Configure BCR Manager
- Open BCR Manager
- Set the device interface to COM port Mode
- Close BCR Manager after applying settings
- Go to System Tray and right click BCR Manager and exit
- Identify COM Port in Device Manager
- Open Device Manager
- Locate the Honeywell scanner under Ports (COM & LPT)
- Note the COM port number assigned
- Verify Settings in Spillman
- Open Spillman
- Navigate to DL Scanning > Properties
- Ensure scanning is enabled
- Set the COM port to match what was found in Device Manager
- Choose Barcode Generic Serial in second drop down
- Prevent COM Port Conflict on Boot
- Right Click task bar and click Task Manager
- Click Startup Apps on left or in hamburger at the top left
- Click BCR Manager
- Click Disable at the top
- This prevents the manager from launching at startup and blocking the COM port needed by Spillman
- Allow Barcode to Start at Power Up
- Open G-Manager
- Click Settings on the left and click Misc
- For barcode choose to have it start at Startup instead of power saving
