Overview
Requesting evidence allows third parties to provide pictures, videos, audio files, and other information to add to a case in Getac Evidence. This is a valuable tool for working with public entities and other agencies that use systems different from the Getac Video Suite.
Select “Request evidence” from the action menu to access the Evidence request form.
Form Entry | Description |
---|---|
First Name – Last Name | Optional entries. If provided, they will populate the associated fields of the evidence collection web portal. The recipient can change/update those entries, and any user changes will be reflected on this form. |
Email Address * | Required. |
Phone Number | Optional. The country code is automatically set to the country defined in the Tenant settings. Users can change the country code. If both email and phone contact information are provided, the recipient will be asked to select which contact type they would like to receive the 2FA code. |
Incident Date * | Required. If evidence has been added to the case, the date will be set to reflect the earliest available evidence. |
Message | Preview of the message that will be sent to the recipient. The application autogenerates it and cannot be edited by the user. |
Request Expiration | Required. Defaults to “3 Days.” Defines the amount of time the user has to access the link once it’s sent. Regardless of the selected expiration, the link will automatically expire once it’s used. |
Officer Contact | Optional. Note: Currently, this information is not exposed to the recipient. |
Evidence is grouped first by date of submission, then by user. Multiple uploads from the same user at different dates are grouped under one entry for that user.
