Q: How do I reset my Windows 10 unit back to factory default image?

A: As long as you did not put a custom Windows image on the unit please follow these steps:

  1. Turn Unit on
  2. Tap the screen repeatedly until the orange screen appears
  3. Tap Setup Utility
  4. Tap Advanced on the left
  5. Hold on the screen and drag up to scroll down
  6. Tap Recovery Partition
    • Unit will then reset and boot to the recovery software
  7. Tap Recovery Button to start recovery to factory reset
    • The unit will have the green bar fill 3 separate times normally before saying completing
  8. Unit will shut down once complete
  9. Turn unit on to go through the out of box experience

If you did put your own image on the unit and want to re-image the unit back to the factory OS, then please download the Getac Recovery Media Utility from our driver page here: Getac Driver Page
