Q: How do I reset my Windows 10 Laptop back to factory default?

A: As long as you did not put a custom Windows image on the unit please follow these steps:

  1. Turn Unit on
  2. Press F2 repeatedly until you’re in BIOS
  3. Press the right arrow 2 times to get to the advanced tab
  4. Arrow down to Recovery Partition
  5. Press Enter
    • Unit will then reset and boot to the recovery software
  6. Press Recovery Button to start recovery to factory reset
    • The unit will have the green bar fill 3 separate times normally before saying completing
  7. Unit will shut down once complete
  8. Turn unit on to go through the out of box experience

If you did put your own image on the unit and want to re-image the unit back to the factory OS, then please download the Getac Recovery Media Utility from our driver page here: Getac Driver Page
