Accessing the Secure Boot Menu in BIOS
Purpose
This document provides instructions for enabling access to the Secure Boot configuration menu within the BIOS on supported Getac laptop systems.
In some cases, the Secure Boot option may not appear under the BIOS Security tab until specific BIOS settings are configured.

Answer
The Secure Boot menu may remain hidden until:
- The operating system mode is set to Windows 10
- A BIOS Supervisor Password is configured
After completing these steps, the Secure Boot settings will become available within the BIOS Security tab.
Prerequisites
Before proceeding:
- Ensure the system is powered off
- Connect AC power if available
- Use a connected keyboard if required
Procedure
Step 1 — Power On the Device
Turn the unit on.
Step 2 — Enter BIOS Setup
When the Getac splash screen appears:
- Press:
F2
This opens the BIOS Setup Utility.
Step 3 — Navigate to the Main Tab
Use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate.
- Press the:
Right Arrow
key until the Main tab is selected.
Step 4 — Verify OS Select Setting
Locate:
OS Select
Ensure it is set to:
Windows 10
Important
Secure Boot options may not appear if the operating system mode is configured for:
- Legacy OS
- Linux
- Other compatibility modes
Step 5 — Navigate to the Security Tab
Use the:
Right Arrow
key to move to the:
Security
tab.
Step 6 — Set a Supervisor Password
Within the Security tab:
- Locate:
Set Supervisor Password
- Enter a supervisor password
- Confirm the password when prompted
Important
The Secure Boot configuration menu remains hidden until a Supervisor Password is configured.
Step 7 — Access Secure Boot Settings
After setting the Supervisor Password:
- The:
Secure Boot
option should now appear within the BIOS Security menu.
You may now:
- Enable or disable Secure Boot
- Modify Secure Boot settings
- Manage Secure Boot keys (if supported)
Saving Changes
After making BIOS changes:
- Press:
F10
- Select:
Save and Exit
The system will reboot with the updated BIOS settings.
Troubleshooting
Secure Boot Still Missing
If Secure Boot still does not appear:
- Verify OS Select is set to Windows 10
- Confirm the Supervisor Password was successfully created
- Save BIOS settings and reboot back into BIOS
- Update BIOS firmware if necessary
Cannot Set Supervisor Password
Possible causes include:
- BIOS keyboard input issues
- Existing BIOS password conflicts
- BIOS corruption
