Q: How do I do a right click with my touchpad instead of needing the right click button?
A: The unit by default will only be able to perform left clicks with the touchpad. If you want it to be able to do a right click you have to go into the Synaptic Settings and enable Tap Zones under Tapping. Then assign one of the corners to do a secondary click
Steps to follow to get to the Tapping Settings:
- Click the up arrow in the bottom right of your screen to open the system tray
- Right Click the touchpad Icon
- Click Pointing Device Properties
- Click Device Settings Tab
- Synaptics should be highlighted - Click Settings
- Click the + Next to Tapping
- Click on Tap Zones
- Check the box to enable Tap Zones
- Click the + next to Tap Zones
- Now you can assign the corners of the touchpad to do different functions.
- If you do not want a specific corner to do anything choose No Zone for that corner
- Click the corner you want assigned for right click
- Choose Secondary Click for that corner
- Click OK to save changes
Now when you click in that corner it will do a right click on the touchpad without using the right click button below the touchpad.
