Q: How do I do a right click with my touchpad instead of needing the right click button?

A: The unit by default will only be able to perform left clicks with the touchpad. If you want it to be able to do a right click you have to go into the Synaptic Settings and enable Tap Zones under Tapping. Then assign one of the corners to do a secondary click

Steps to follow to get to the Tapping Settings:

  1. Click the up arrow in the bottom right of your screen to open the system tray
  2. Right Click the touchpad Icon
  3. Click Pointing Device Properties
  4. Click Device Settings Tab
  5. Synaptics should be highlighted - Click Settings
  6. Click the + Next to Tapping
  7. Click on Tap Zones
  8. Check the box to enable Tap Zones
  9. Click the + next to Tap Zones
  10. Now you can assign the corners of the touchpad to do different functions.
  11. If you do not want a specific corner to do anything choose No Zone for that corner
  12. Click the corner you want assigned for right click
  13. Choose Secondary Click for that corner
  14. Click OK to save changes

Now when you click in that corner it will do a right click on the touchpad without using the right click button below the touchpad.
