Q: When I take the unit off the dock or AC Power the LCD instantly Dims. Is there a way to correct this?

A: Take the battery cover off then put it back on make sure you feel all the snaps snap in place and then lock it down. See if this corrects the issue. If the unit still dims on battery only after doing this it will need to go in for RMA.
