Q: I have one battery showing at 100% and the other at 70% but it isn't charging fully. Is my second battery going bad?

A: Not necessarily. This percentage is Windows reading the capacity of the battery. Please follow these steps to check if there is an actual difference between the two batteries

  • Click the arrow in the bottom right to open the system tray
  • Right click the Getac Utility
  • Click G-Manager
  • Click the Battery Tab
  • Full Charge Capacity is what will let you know the capacity each battery can charge to. This number will degrade over time as the battery life of the unit decreases.
  • If the 70% battery has a much lower Charging Capacity then it could point to the battery life decreasing.
  • You can click start for Gauge reset to help calibrate the battery for a better use of its remaining capacity.
