Update Processes

For all remote updates, it is advised to update a small portion of the fleet units first, then continuing with the remaining units once the updates are found to be successful.

Please read all instructions before beginning the process.  Note that during the process, Getac EVM does not have any validation on the uploaded versions, so care needs to be taken to ensure that the proper files are uploaded.

In-Car and Masterdock Unit Updates:

The latest version numbers will be provided via "The Dispatch".  Signup for the newsletter by following this link: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/0FatR9v/Dispatch

Begin by navigating to Setup > Versions.  Each version in the list is specific to either Car, Masterdock, BC02 or BC03.  They will also have a File Status checkmark or X depending on if the file has been uploaded to the server or not.

If the latest version does not exist in the list of available versions, click the Page icon to add the new version.  New versions can be provided upon request if the available version on your website are not updated, and can be added to the list by following the below steps.

Fill in the following information:

1. Select Cars on the Client drop down.
2. In Version, Enter 3.107.X.X   (change these X version numbers depending on the release you will be uploading)
3. Leave Dependency set to none.
4. Leave description blank.
5. Check the box for “Silent Update”.
6. Click Create.
7. Select the checkbox next to the version you have just created then click the Upload button   and add the version file “IRSASetup_3_107_X_X.msi”

Repeat the preceding steps for “Masterdock” Client type and use the file “IRSAMasterDockSetup_3_107_X_X.msi”

Once these version have been created and have the respective files uploaded to them, the updates can be pushed to units via the Units tab.

1. Navigate to the Units tab within the Getac EVM website.
2. Select 1 or more units to update their version.
3. Once selected, the “Cog Wheel” Options menu can be used to “Change Version”.
   1. For Target Version, choose 3.107.X.X
   2. If the only option is “Current Version”, either the version was not created or the unit is already updated.
4. You will notice an UP arrow next to units’ versions that are pending an update.  Units will update when they check in, and are in a standby status.

*Note: Software can be manually installed onto units locally by simply uninstalling the old version and running the installer directly on the unit.
