How to Setup User Security Questions

Overview

When a new User account is created, an option to send an activation email is provided. When the User clicks on the link, they are prompted to setup a new password and security questions, so they can reset their password in the event of forgetting. This article explains this process.

Caution:
Users, whose account is managed by ADCANNOT use this process to regain access to Getac Enterprise. Contact an administrator for assistance. Getac video support CANNOT reset AD synced Users.

Instructions

  1. First, follow the steps provided to create a new User in Add new User, and choose Send Activation Link before clicking the Save button.
    Note:
    If a User does not have security questions or simply needs to reset them, follow the steps in the links above to resend the security questions link.
  2. The User will receive an email with an activation link as shown below. They must click the link to continue.

  3. Provide a password and confirm it, then select three questions from the dropdown lists and provide answers.

  4. Enter the Captcha, then click Submit to finalize.
  5. Once complete, they will be returned to the login screen.
Caution:
  • If a User forgets the answer to their questions, they can be sent a link to set them up again from the Main Users page, covered here.
