Note:
This article showcases features that are typically only made available to Administrator roles.

However, since Getac Enterprise is highly configurable, the ability to complete tasks described in this article may be different for each User, depending on policy. Please contact an administrator with all access questions and concerns.

Overview

BlackBox Recordings, can only be accessed by logging into the Windows operating system as an administrator. How far back in time a recording is available, is dependent upon the size of secondary drive purchased. This article details the process of logging into the ClientAdmin profile and accessing the BlackBox drive.

Working with BlackBox files

Once accessed and downloaded from a DVR, the following are common use cases for BlackBox Recordings.

  • Upload into Getac Enterprise.
    Note:
This is useful if a recording was recovered of an event that the User was not able to activate a recording.
  • Upload to third-party Records Management System.
    Caution:
Getac does not provide documentation for this process, as there are many RMS systems. Contact your RMS vendor for assistance.
  • Use for internal training.

Getac does not use proprietary players or codecs, so BlackBox videos can be reviewed in whichever application that .MP4 files are supported, e.g. VLC Media Player.
